Karen Isaacs, the Director of Sole Swimming School bought a house in Gresswold area, in year 2000, with the support of her parents. She built a closure for the swimming pool and started her own Swimming School called : "Sole Swimming". She subsequently did the "Swim South Africa Teachers Course, and had her Swimming School accredited by Swim SA.

Karen's remarkeable journey started while teaching classes at Sharper Image. She watched the swimming teacher and coaches teaching the children to swim and took a great interest in desiring to teach children, too.

In 1991, Karen did Franky Frog -' A Learn to Swim Teachers Course', and then started teaching children how to swim, while doing the course. " I did this all at Sandton Health & Racquet (now known as Sandton Virgin active)", says Karen.

Karen completed her Interior design course and worked for a kitchen manufacturing company for 3 years,while she taught swimming lessons on weekends.

After 3 years working as an interior designer, Karen decided that she really preferred working with children and had found a love for swimming too. She went on doing her own training and competing in some outdoor swimming races. She completed Midmar mile swims as well as quite a few local open water races, too.

Karen started off by teaching swimming at Sandton Health & racquet, then went on to teach at a private swimming school, in the Sandton area.

After teaching at the swimming school for a period of 4 years and doing some private lessons at people's homes, she found a full time ' Learn to Swim' teaching job at a swimming school in Glenhazel area. She taught at this private swimming school until the year 2000.
